Kreinhop Elementary School opened its doors in August of 2004 with approximately 900 students. The school is named for August and Dorothea Kreinhop, who came to the United States from Germany. They settled in the Spring-Klein area sometime between 1875 and 1878. Their family home was moved to the Klein School District at Wunderlich Farm on March 28, 2003. The school dedication was held on March 10, 2005, with several Kreinhop family members present.
Kreinhop Elementary is rated as a Met Standard campus in Klein ISD.
The counseling program offers educational guidance and referral information as needed. The guidance counselor assists with the coordination of programs and events such as the Character Program, Career Day, Red Ribbon Week, Sooper Puppy, G. T. Identification Process, Behavior RTI , Crisis Intervention, Mentor Program, No Place for Hate (bullying prevention), and the Student Council.
Kreinhop has an eager and active PTO. They are always seeking new volunteers. The Kreinhop PTO supports many of our campus programs and events including W.A.T.C.H. Dogs, Muffins with Moms, Donuts with Dads, hosting classroom parties, Fifth Grade Appreciation, and Field Day. They also host holiday parties for our students and regularly provide volunteers to assist in our school.
All Kreinhop teachers follow the district and state curriculum. We work to provide a positive and hands on learning environment for all students. Click the titles for more details.
English Language Arts
In the elementary ELA program, the emphasis is on the development of fundamental reading and writing skills. Reading instruction includes training in phonics, structural analysis, sight word recognition, context clues, vocabulary development, comprehension, study skills, and literary appreciation. Writing instruction teaches students how to use written language appropriately. Instruction includes specific training in grammar, spelling, handwriting, word usage, punctuation, and capitalization, as well as more generalized training in composing written expressions. Skills in speaking and listening are also taught with the instruction for reading and writing.
At the elementary level, students build a foundation of basic understandings for the following: number operation and quantitative reasoning; patterns, relationships, and algebraic thinking; geometry and spatial reasoning; measurement; and probability and statistics.
At the elementary level, students learn science basic skills and how to identify components of the natural world. Students study life, earth, and physical science concepts.
In grades K-12, students build a foundation in history, geography, economics, government, citizenship, culture, science, technology and society, and social studies skills. The content, as appropriate for the grade level or course, enables students to understand the importance of patriotism, function in a free enterprise society, and appreciate the basic democratic values of our state and nation
Kreinhop is always excited about involving our students in extracurricular activities. We have an amazing school choir that enjoys performing at school events and in the community. Kreinhop is also the proud home of a PULSE group where students have an opportunity to perform with a variety of instruments. Our school groups perform at the Astros game, Chick-Fil-A, Market Street in the Woodlands, Holiday in the Park in Old Town Spring and numerous other community events.
All students participate in art classes and have opportunities to submit their art work to shows throughout the school year. We also have an Art After School Club for students.
Our P.E. coaches work hard to make physical activity fun at Kreinhop. They provide a variety of activities to motivate every child. The PE coaches host a Challenge Club before school to promote physical activity. In addition to the above clubs, Kreinhop offers student participation in Student Council, Recycle Club, Math Club, Book Clubs, Basketball Clubs and numerous other fun activities.
