Mittelstadt Counseling Department
Meet the Counselors
Welcome! I’m Dionna James. I’m extremely excited to serve as Pre-K, Kindergarten, second, and fourth grade counselor. This will be my 10th year in education, and 2nd year at Mittelstadt. I’ve taught in Spring Branch ISD and spent majority of my career in Klein ISD at Nitsch Elementary.
I am a native Houstonian, and a product of Klein ISD; attending Nitsch Elementary, Klein Intermediate and graduating from Klein Forest High School. I received my Bachelors degree at Stephen F. Austin State University and my Masters in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University.
I am passionate about building relationships with students, teachers, parents and the community to create a nurturing learning environment where students can thrive socially and excel academically. I look forward to working with you and your child! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning and lots of adventure and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
Welcome! I’m Stacy Granick. I’m extremely excited to serve as first, third and fifth grade counselor. This will be my 19th year in education, and first year at Mittelstadt Elementary. I’ve been a case manager for the past eight years at Klein Collins High School and spent the years prior teaching high school in Wisconsin. I received my counseling certification through Region 4 in Texas.
My family and I relocated to Texas from Wisconsin eight years ago. I have twin boys in the sixth grade at Kleb Intermediate. We love this area and Klein ISD school system. My boys have always attended Klein schools.
I'm determined to assist every student to achieve their educational goals and personal well being. I’m passionate about building relationship with students, staff, parents/guardians and community members. I’m sensitive to socioeconomic and cultural differences of students as well as committed to fulfilling the district vision of every student entering with a Promise and exiting with a Purpose.
I look forward to working with all of the teachers, students, parents/guardians, principal, assistant principals and other professionals that serve our campus. This year is going to be full of adventure, learning, growth and opportunity. I’m excited for the school year to start and to meet all of you!
