"Health Science was such a great experience for me and I am so grateful for having this opportunity. Going to the hospital allowed me to see different perspectives that I would not have imagined. This learning moment helped me list and narrow down what I really want to be in the future. You never know what you really want unless you experience it first hand. I saw many exciting procedures and learned many new things at the hospital. In class, Dr. Rodriguez (amazing teacher) would allow us to openly talk about what we see at the hospital (ONLY in the class) and as well as do fun simulations as if we were helping real patients!" - Kathy Nguyen
Taking Health Science, I've learned lots of practical skills that will stick with me for a lifetime. I've learned CPR, how to splint injuries, how to wash my hands properly, how to check blood pressure, and in our current situation--washing hands is very important. Dr. Rodriguez also has real-world experience from being a chiropractor where she dealt with various types of physical ailments and can assist with how to handle social situations confidently, without hesitation. Overall, Health Science is a fun, engaging class that I would recommend to anyone who wants to be in the medical field!-Julian Montes
"Clinical Theory was a fun learning experience. I developed new skills and was placed in a real-world setting which helped me decide whether this was the correct career field I wanted to go in. "- Iris Garcia
Students will gain practice in the classroom by participating in labs that teach skills such as patient interaction, safety, first aid, triage, fire safety, search and rescue, vital sign skills, and more.
