Introduction to Food Tech. is a dynamic course. You will have the opportunity to utilize strategies learned in your core classes in a real-world application. You will work both independently and in groups on various assignments throughout the year. All classroom, campus, and district policies are expected to be followed. You will have the opportunity to participate in the FFA organization and are encouraged to do so. Instruction will be delivered in multiple methods so that every student has a fair opportunity to learn and achieve. To be prepared for careers in value-added and food processing systems, students need to attain academic skills and knowledge, acquire technical knowledge and skills related to value-added and food processing and the workplace, and develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations. To prepare for success, students need opportunities to learn, reinforce, apply, and transfer their knowledge, skills, and technologies in a variety of settings. This course examines the food technology industry as it relates to food production, handling, and safety.
