This course is recommended for students in Grades 10-12. Students may be awarded one credits. Knowledge and skills related to child development equip individuals to develop positive relationships with children and effective parenting and caregiver skills. Individuals use these skills to promote the well-being and healthy development of children, strengthen families in a culturally diverse society, and pursue careers related to the care and education of children. Student can participate in taking home a baby simulator (real care baby) and/or wearing an empathy belly during a school day.
I absolutely love this class! It is so much fun.
We do fun projects in this class. I especially loved taking home the real care baby.
Wearing the empathy belly around school for a day was fun. It gave me a better understanding of what a pregnant woman goes through while doing daily tasks.
I learned so much about parenting, pregnancy, babies and kids, which I know will be beneficial when I get older and have my own kids.
