Teacher Voice

Pathophysiology is a CTE Course for Advanced Core Science Credit. It is a college preparatory course for students that have successfully completed Anatomy & Physiology or are concurrently enrolled in ADV A&P and are truly interested in pursuing a career in the Health Fields. This course is designed to reference the body structures and tissues that were learned in ADV A&P as the students explore the disruption of homeostasis (deviating from the "norms"), and various etiologies (origins and causes of disease in the body).

Challenging yet Fun & Rewarding

What happens in class?

This course has an enriched supply of medical vocabulary, research, project-based learning, an unlimited quantity of science, and an enhanced dissection/lab component. In addition to the study skills that your student(s) will acquire in class, it is imperative that they continue their studies outside of class so that they are able to take full ownership of their learning. Everything that is taught and learned is continuously being referenced to as we explore diseases and how they disturb the function of the human body.
