⭐Important Note: At this time only teachers of record, admin, specialists, and librarians have access to monitor students using Lightspeed Classroom.

Campus aides, substitutes, and paraprofessionals currently do not have access to monitor students within Lightspeed classroom.

The intended purpose of this tool is for staff to monitor student device activity in the same room as the students.

Step 1: On the Klein Dashboard, search for Lightspeed Classroom . You can also scroll to find it and drag it to the top of your Dashboard. Click on the Lightspeed Classroom icon and login with Google. Make sure you select your Klein Google account.

Right-click on the Lightspeed Classroom icon to pin the icon to your favorites bar!

Step 2: Before students can be displayed, your class schedule must be set up. Click on Configure Schedule and then select Custom (Elementary) or Bell (Secondary) from the dropdown menu. You can modify your class schedule at any time by clicking the settings icon in the lower left-hand corner.

Follow these steps to hide classes and rename your 22-23 classes.

How to create a custom class and add students

Teachers, admin, and specialists have the ablity to create custom classes within Lightspeed.

⭐Important Note: Only one staff member can monitor a student at a time. If a staff member begins monitoring using a custom class, the students within the class will temporarily be claimed from the Lightspeed class of the teacher of record.
