How do I participate in the lone star reading program?
1. Begin reading books on the 2021-2022 Lone Star List
2. Use BeanStack on the Klein Dashboard to participate in the Lone Star Reading Challenge!
3. After each of the Lone Star Books you complete and read, click on the activity for that book to earn your badge. Be sure to use or Bearcub Writing Expectations to give a thoughtful answer full of complete sentences in a paragraph.
3. Come talk to me about your prize after you earn each one! I'll be running reports to keep track of your progress, but you're responsible for coming to claim your prizes!

Lone star reading rewards
1 book = a Lone Star pencil
3 books = a rubber ducky
6 books = a duck and reading decal
9 books = a duck and a pin for your lanyard
12 books = a duck and a free book of your choice
15 books = a duck, invite to Lone Star Pizza party in May & certificate
Students who read at least 15 Lone Star books in 6th grade and all 20 Lone Stars in 7th and 8th grade will have their names published to the Lone Star Reading plaque of Excellence displayed in the Kleb Library.
