This is my 13th year at Klein Collins High School. I am very proud to be a Klein Collins Tiger and a member of the Klein ISD family! I have over 33 years experience in Marketing and Advertising and am thrilled to pass along my knowledge and expertise in this field. DECA: Prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Membership is highly encouraged but not required. The DECA experience is about exploring your options, discovering new paths and experiencing opportunities you never knew existed. With DECA, the possibilities for success are #Limitless. Advertising: This course is designed to be a comprehensive introduction to advertising. Students will learn techniques used in current advertising, including print, broadcast, and digital media. Students will explore the social, ethical, and legal issues of advertising, historical influences, strategies, and media decision process. The course provides an overview of how communication tools can be used to reach target audiences.
Entrepreneurship: The objective of the Entrepreneurship course is to introduce students to the principles of business and marketing, the concepts of economics and free enterprise, and the understanding of human resource skills that an effective marketer must possess which provide the foundation for the study of entrepreneurship.
Fashion Marketing: Students will learn the nature and scope of the fashion industry. They will understand the importance of fashion; demonstrate knowledge of fashion history and how it relates to today’s fashion, along with distinguishing among fashion terms used in the industry. The student will also be exposed to the variety of career opportunities in the fashion marketing industry.
Sports and Entertainment Marketing: Students investigate areas of marketing foundations, economics, sponsorships, public relations, sales, advertising, licensing, and other industry-related topics. Due to an increasingly diverse world, companies are planning a variety of unique promotional activities to reach their clients. Becoming involved with event marketing through concerts, theaters, movies, videos or sports broadcasting is one of the most effective ways many companies can market its products.
Social Media Marketing: Social Media Marketing is designed to look at the rise of social media and how marketers are integrating social media tools in their overall marketing strategy. The different media platforms are investigated as well as career opportunities in this industry. Students will investigate the highly competitive, global business environment, and marketing techniques that are needed in a specialized marketing occupation.
