"In Klein ISD, Every student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose!"
As parents in Klein, you've likely heard this vision several times. In order to make this vision a reality, parents and teachers must work together. Parent University is a Klein initiative that works to strengthen that partnership and empower families to actively participate in their student's education.
We are excited to announce that Blackshear Elementary will be a part of Klein's Parent University for the 2018-2019 school year!!
How to Participate
Enrolling in Parent University is easy! All you have to do is get involved! Throughout the year, Klein ISD and Blackshear Elementary will offer several events as part of Parent University. Nurtured Heart Approach
Our campus uses Nurtured Heart Approach as a standard for all student interactions. This discipline approach is focused on being intentional in all interactions with the purpose of building inner wealth and avoiding the pitfalls of negativity. This approach is particularly effective in dealing with intense children.
The counseling department has several books on the approach. These are available for check out by simply reaching out to one of the counselors. Be looking for information on a possible 6 week class on using Nurtured Heart at home.
Lori is a Certified Trainer in Nurtured Heart and is available at any time as a resource to parents and teachers.
