Annual Makahiki Ceremonies

Each year, all of Maui's Immersion program schools gather for the Wehena and Panina Makahiki Ceremonies. These ceremonies mark the Opening and Closing of the Makahiki season. It is a time to honor Lonoikamakahiki and to give thanks for the abundance of ‘ai (food) and aloha (love). Below are some of traditional mele and oli.
