Mr. Riley originally hails from West Texas where he graduated from Canyon High School in 2015 and later went on to attend and graduate from West Texas A&M University in 2020. At WTAMU, Mr. Riley majored in music education with an emphasis in trombone and taught numerous private lesson students before taking his band director position in Alvord ISD.
Mr. Riley began his teaching career in Alvord ISD in 2021 where he was an assistant band director for the entire school district. After leaving Alvord, he took a position as the assistant band director of Hubbard Middle School in Tyler ISD where he found lots of success teaching beginning brass and percussion students.
Mr. Riley will be starting his fourth year of teaching as the head director of Kilgore Middle School and will be teaching its varsity wind ensemble and beginner low brass students alongside team teaching at the high school. In his free time, Mr. Riley loves reading, spending time in the sun, and keeping up with anything Cowboy football and Maverick basketball. Mr. Riley plans to spend summer visiting and catching up with family and friends, kayaking, hanging out by the pool and supporting drum corps international as a former performing member, admin team member, and brass tech!
