Ms. Rettig is a recent graduate of West Texas A&M University where she majored in Music Education. She is originally from Brenham, TX where she started her musical journey playing piano at a young age and then started playing French horn in the 6th grade. Ms. Rettig student taught at Pecan Trail Intermediate School, Wellborn Middle School, and College Station High School in the fall of 2023.
During her time at WTAMU, Ms. Rettig was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon and the Xi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. She was also on the leadership team for the Sound of West Texas Marching band. She performed in many major ensembles and small ensembles during her time in college. Ms. Rettig has taught private lessons for many years and was an annual attendee of the WTAMU band camp where she has been an RA and student event staff and served as the hall director at camp.
Ms. Rettig is the Kilgore Middle School Assistant Director and teaches the KMS Symphonic Band, beginner flutes, saxophones, and French horns and team teaches the KMS Concert Band and up at the high school as well.
In her free time Ms. Rettig enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing card games and going on trips to Colorado.
