Happy New Year! Over the last two months, dorm students have enjoyed a variety of on and off-campus trips. Students have been busy studying for semester exams, participating in house cup events, and enjoying their free time around campus! 

새해 복 많이 받으세요! 지난 두 달간, 기숙사학생들은 다양한 교내외 활동들을 즐겼습니다! 학생들은 시험 준비와 하우스컵 이벤트 참여, 그리고 캠퍼스 주변에서 여가 시간을 즐기며 분주하게 지냈습니다!

New Middle School Students

This semester, we welcomed 18 new middle school dorm students.  Dean of Boarding, Ms. Maggie, hosted a Dorm Orientation to explain the MS daily schedule and the dorm community guidelines, as well as answer any questions the new students had. Sequoia House students went above and beyond to make welcome signs and greet the arriving students off the elevator to ensure the new students received a warm welcome. 

Additionally, five HS day students and four new G9 students joined the HS dorms this semester. They received dorm/campus tours by their HS staff, who ensured they were up early to attend the day school's HS orientation program.

이번 학기에, 우리는 18명의 새로운 중등기숙사 학생들을 맞이했습니다. Ms. Maggie 총사감선생님은 기숙사 학생들을 환영하는 오리엔테이션을 열어, 중등기숙사 일과 및 기숙사 생활 수칙 등을 안내하고, 새로온 학생들의 질문을 받아주셨습니다. Sequoia하우스 학생들은 새로온 친구들을 따뜻하게 환영하기 위해 웰컴 사인을 만들고 기숙사에 도착해 엘리베이터에서 내리는 학생들을 맞아주었습니다.

또한, 5명의 재학생과 4명의 신입학 학생들이 이번 학기부터 고등기숙사에 합류하였습니다. 고등 오리엔테이션을 위해 일찍 입실한 학생들을 위해 고등사감선생님께서 기숙사 및 캠퍼스 투어를 진행하였습니다.

On Campus Events!

Semester 1 we had many teachers come into the dorms for academic study sessions as well as wellness clubs! In total, we had 103 hours of teachers coming in for pastoral care hours! Semester 2 we are looking to have even more chances for our students to participate in activities and study sessions with our amazing teachers!

1학기에 많은 교사진이 기숙사에 방문하여 학업 지원 세션을 열고, 웰니스 클럽에 참여하였습니다! 선생님들이 방문하여 총 103시간의 pastoral care의 시간을 가졌습니다! 2학기에는 훌륭한 선생님들과 함께 우리 학생들이 더 많은 활동과 학업 지원 세션의 기회를 갖게되기를 기대합니다!

Holiday Drop-In!

In December, Dorm Leadership Council organized a Holiday Drop-In with the help of Dorm Specialist, Ms. Jess. School staff members with children were able to come by for a variety of events like coloring ornaments, reading, holiday movies, and cookie decorating! All the mini Dragons had a blast!

Student Lounges

Over December and January, students have enjoyed celebrating Christmas, birthdays, and enjoying each others' company within their lounges! It is great to see a warm and welcoming environment.

12월과 1월에, 학생들은 크리스마스와 생일을 축하하고, 라운지에서 학우들과의 공동체 생활을 즐겼습니다! 따뜻하고 환영하는 분위기를 볼 수 있어 좋았습니다.

MS Clubs - Season 2 

Virtue of the Week!

Each week, six students (one male, one female, from Middle School, G9/10, and G11/12) are chosen because they best embody and represent the week's Dorm Virtue. Each student is recognized with a certificate and is highlighted on the Virtue of the Week Wall.

매주, 해당 주의 기숙사의 미덕을 가장 잘 구현하는 6명의 학생들(중학생,9/10학년,11/12학년에서 각각 남학생 1명과 여학생 1명)이 선발됩니다. 해당 학생에게 증명서가 부여되고 Virtue of the Week 게시판에 사진이 부착됩니다.

House Cup 

Over the past two months, we have had two different house cup events! The first one was finger painting with a Christmas Theme. Cedar and Birch house were the winners! The next event we held was Human Tic-Tac-Toe and Pine House took the top prize! Students enjoyed being active whilst having to use their problem-solving skills. 

지난 두 달간, 두 가지의 하우스 컵 대회를 했습니다! 첫 번째는 손으로 그리는 크리스마스였습니다. Cedar와 Birch하우스가 우승하였습니다! 그 다음은 Human Tic-Tac-Toe였으며 Pine하우스가 1등을 하였습니다. 학생들은 자신들의 문제해결 능력을 활용하며 능동적인 시간을 즐겼습니다.
