This Swim event will take place on the same day as the Season 3 Track and Field Meet for grade 2-5. Students on both teams will be able to compete in both as they are at different times.

Please Note:

  • This event is a chance for individuals to test themselves for their own personal growth. Results will be recorded but no individual medals or awards will be granted. No team awards will be issued.
  • The event is open to all KIS ES Swim team students from Season 1, 2 and 3.
  • Students will be placed as much as possible into their events of choice. They will be expected to swim where coaches place them for the benefit of the team.


Season Information

General Information

  • Practices will take place in the MS Pool.
  • Students meeting place will be at the MS Pool. Students wait for the coach before entering the change rooms.
  • Parent Pick Up is at Gate #1, students will be dismissed at 5:10 pm and must leave the campus at that time. There is no staying after practice to play on the field.
  • Students who take the later bus from the school will be expected to go immediately to the bus following practices.
  • Cancellations due to weather conditions or unexpected events will be communicated to parents during the school day. We will attempt to make these decisions by 1:00 pm and will send messages by text.

Practice Equipment

Players are expected to have the following for practices:

  • KIS Swim Uniform
  • Swim Cap
  • Towel
  • Water bottle

Meets and Events

There will be inter-school meets against other schools. Information regarding these meets/ events will be listed below and communicated to families in advance.

Criteria for being on the ES Swim Team.

The ES after school swim program is intended as a team where training occurs to improve students that meet a certain level of swim competency that will allow them to participate in the inter-school swim events. All students will need to participate in an evaluation swim that will occur at the beginning of Season 1 and again after the Winter Break in Season 2.

Students must be able to perform the following:

Grades 2 &3

Swim 25m of 2 different strokes (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly) without stoppingDive head first from the swimming pool deck or start blocksDemonstrate safe behavior in-and-around the swimming pool

Grades 4 & 5

Swim 50m of 2 different strokes (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly) without stoppingDive from diving-blockDemonstrate safe behavior in-and-around the swimming pool
