Mrs. Mead is starting her second year of teaching and first year as the CATS team social studies teacher. She received her bachelors degree from Western Governors University.
Outside of school hours Mrs. Mead enjoys working out, walks with her dog, and spending time with family.

English and Reading - CATS Team
Mrs. Riley is the 6th-grade English teacher on the CATS team. This is her 7th year teaching 6th grade and her 11th year in education overall. She is passionate about helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers and is excited to partner with families for a great school year.
Outside of school, Mrs. Riley enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children: Maddox (8), Porter (5), and Jordan (2). Their family also includes a black lab named Hutch. The Rileys love attending sporting events and cheering on the Tigers together. Don’t hesitate to say hello if you see them at a game!

Science and Reading - CATS Team
Mrs. Spain is starting her 12th year as the CATS team science teacher, but is no stranger to science. She spent fourteen years teaching 5th grade math and science at Macon Elementary before becoming a CAT. She has a bachelors degree from Buena Vista University and a masters degree from William Woods University.
Mrs. Spain and her husband, Rob, have two children: Zoey 16 & Zaden 13 and a miniature dachshund named Milo. Her family loves camping and going on trail rides. Mrs. Spain enjoys going on walks and spending time with her family. She grew up in Kirksville and has always been a tiger.

Math and Reading - CATS Team
Mrs. Uselton is starting her second year as the CATS team math teacher. This is Mrs. Uselton's 13th year teaching after receiving her bachelor's degree from Hannibal La-Grange University. She has taught many areas throughout her career, however, math has always been her favorite.
Outside of school hours, Mrs. Uselton and her husband enjoy spending time with family, competing in various activities, and watching a good movie. Mrs. Uselton loves cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs! Her husband, unfortunately, chooses other teams.

Special Services - CATS Team
Mrs. Van Riessen is the Special Education teacher on the 6th-grade CATS team. This is her 7th year in education, and has previously taught Special Education, 7th-grade Social Studies, and High School Health during summer school. She is passionate about supporting students in reaching their full potential and is excited to build strong relationships with both students and families throughout the year.
Outside of school, Mrs. Van Riessen enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their three sons: Carson (8th grade), Cooper (7th grade), and Collin (4th grade). Their family stays busy attending sporting events, school plays, concerts, and Quiz Bowl competitions. At home, Mrs. Van Riessen enjoys game nights, family dinners/get-togethers and taking long walks at sunset.

Mrs. Coy is the 6th-grade English teacher on the STARS team. This is her 4th year teaching in the Kirksville R-III School District. Before joining the middle school team, she taught 2nd-grade at Kirksville Primary School for 3 years. She is thrilled to help her students grow into strong and confident readers, writers and thinkers.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Coy enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. This year, she’s also excited to be on the sidelines as the Assistant Middle School Cheerleading Coach at WMMS. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Math and Reading - STARS Team
Mrs. Rossbach is excited to join the STARs team as a 6th-grade math teacher. This is her first year at WMMS, but she taught at Ray Miller for 8 years as a 5th-grade teacher and math interventionist. She has her Master's in Elementary Mathematics Education (1-6) from Northwest Missouri State University.
Mrs. Rossbach and her husband, Robbie, have two boys, Dylan (5) and Blake (2). She has two dogs, a black lab named Koda, and a rottweiler mix named Loretta. Their family enjoys camping and kayaking in the summers, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs on game days. Most days she winds down for the day with a good book.

Mrs. Roberts is the 6th grade Science and Reading teacher on the STARS team. She previously taught 2nd grade for three wonderful years, and while she loved her time there, she is thrilled to now be working with middle school students. She's passionate about helping students grow into confident, thoughtful communicators who enjoy learning and discovering new ideas through reading and writing.
A little bit about Mrs. Roberts—outside of the classroom, she love spending time outdoors and cherishing every moment she can with her family. Whether it's exploring new places, or just enjoying a quiet evening at home, she truly value quality time and balance.
She's looking forward to an amazing school year filled with learning, growth, and connection. Let’s make this year one to remember!

Social Studies and Reading - STARS Team
Mrs. Corbett is starting her tenth year of teaching with the STAR Team. She is in her fourth year teaching social studies, and she previously taught English on the team. She has a bachelor's degree from Buena Vista University in elementary education. She started her teaching career a little later than most, but it was the best move she ever made.
She spends the majority of her free time with her husband, Shawn, and her children Devan (Eli, Devan's husband), and Michael. She enjoys crafting, Christmas movies, and reading. One of her favorite books is "Salt to the Sea" by Ruta Sepetys, another book that is a top pick would be "Orbiting Jupiter." She has many other favorites, but enjoys historical fiction the most.

Special Services and Co-teacher - STARS Team
Ms. Prewitt is beginning her ninth year as the Star's team Special Education teacher. She has a B.A. in English from Truman, earned her teaching credentials from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and is currently working toward her graduate degree in instructional design at WGU.
Her children inspired her to attend college and eventually begin working in education. Together they enjoy going on road trips, spending time at the lake, and experimenting with and creating various things (e.g., recipes, art projects, etc.).
