Your new device will be set up upon collection so your child can use it within school.
To log into the device your child will need their password (Surface) or passcode (iPad).
They will receive their usename and password on their first day of school.
In order for the device to work at home you will need to connect the device to your home WiFi.
To log into a Surface device your child should use their school username (e.g. ABC123) and password they set at school.
To log into an iPad your child should enter the 4 or 6 digital passcode they set up. Please encourage them to share this with you so that you can unlock the device if they forget it.
During term time, passcodes can be reset by the school, however during holidays, there will be no available support to do this and your child will be unable to use their device until they return to school.

Your child will be provided with a school managed Apple ID, this is a limited account that only provides access to iCloud storage, your child will not be able to download any apps from the App Store whilst signed in with this Apple ID.
In order to access Apple services, such as the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, etc. Your child should log in with their personal account outside of school hours. During school hours, Jamf will log the device out of this account and log in with a school managed Apple ID, restricting access to Apple services whilst in school. The account will revert automatically once outside of school hours.
When prompted to turn on Location Services, we would highly recommend that they are activated so Jamf can locate the device if it were to go missing. We would also recommend installing the ‘Find My…’ app from the App Store if you have an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, so that you are also able to track the whereabouts of your child’s device.
