Your child's iPad is only restricted during school hours, when at home your child may have the ability to access apps, games and websites that you may find inappropriate.
Therefore we highly recommend that you set up parent restrictions to protect your child and control their use of their iPad at home.
Jamf provides a free parent app that can be used by parents at home to manage and supervise the use of your child’s iPad.
Using Jamf Parent, you can restrict and allow apps and device functionality on your child's device.
The online guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to install and set-up Jamf Parent.* It will also take you through all the features of the app and explain how you can use it to supervise and manage your child's iPad at home.
Alternatively, you can download our Jamf Parent Guide from the documentation page.
*Please be aware that the instructions on how to install and set-up Jamf Parent in the online video makes a small error. You will need to use the Jamf Student App (already installed on your child's device) to link your device with theirs. You will find the QR code in the side menu.
With Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, you can block or limit specific apps and features on your child’s device. You can also restrict the settings on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch for explicit content, purchases and downloads, and privacy.
For compressive instructions on how to set up parental control via an Apple device please refer to the Apple Support Site. Alternatively, download our iPad Parent Control Guide from the documentation page.
*please note you will need a Apple iPhone or iPad of your own to implement these parental controls
