Google Classroom is a free blended learning platform developed by Google for educational institutions that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments.
The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students
To access Google Classroom, go to the KSR Springboard and click on the Google Classroom logo (iPad users can also use the app).
Your child may need to Sign in if they haven't accessed Google Classroom on their device before. To do this:
Enter their school email address, this is their username followed by the school web address i.e. ABC123@kings-rochester.co.uk
Next enter their password. This is the same one they use for school.
Locate the Classroom you are looking for. Each subject will have its own classroom. Classrooms are labelled with the subject abbreviation and class name i.e. COMP26H
Once you have found it click on it to enter.
You will find the classwork posted under topic headings. Each lesson or prep within the topic will be titled appropriately so your child can find it easily.
Click on the title and details of the lesson or prep including instructions and any resources they need will be displayed on the screen
If your child's teacher has set work for your child to complete electronically they will need to turn it in.
All assigned work appears to the top left of the lesson. To turn in the assigned document click 'Turn in'. To turn in an alternative document click on '+Add or create' and choose the file from their Google Drive.
Students can find all assigned work in their To do list, all activities will appear in order of due date. If there is no due date attached, the assignment will be at the bottom of the list.
To access the assignment, simply click on the title of the assignment and it will take the student right to the directions and attachments for the assignment.
