Kilpilahti Power Plant Ltd 

Kilpilahti Power Plant Ltd (KPP) produces the necessary energy and other utilities in Kilpilahti’s industry and strives to utilize the side streams of the areas industry as fuels. The total energy production capacity is approximately 840 MW (5 operating units). The steam generation capacity of the new power plant is 450 MW, and its electricity generation capacity is 30 MW. The new power was constructed in accordance with the latest environmental regulations, including the European Commission’s Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), and is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 20 percent compared to the recent history. The plant, operated by Veolia Services Suomi Oy, started delivering steam to customers at the beginning of 2024 and all production units were commissioned in April 2024.

Neste Oyj ja Veolia Energie International S.A. both own 40% of KPP and Borealis owns 20%.
