Killingly Construction Craziness
Killingly Construction Craziness

I recently noticed some construction going on in Killingly and I've heard alot of things, like that it's going to bring in a Five Guys or a Starbucks. So I went and interviewed some of the security staff and Mr Paul from administration for more information.
Missy, a well liked security guard said “Yeah I noticed that there was something going on around that bank, the one over by the park… I think it’ll be a great addition to Killingly,” as if it would spice up the town with something new and interesting. I also interviewed some other security guards who had the same point of view. The one outlier didn't notice any of the construction, but when I mentioned it, He agreed that it was good that we were getting something new. It would help the economy with jobs and not spice up Killingly, per se, but give it something refreshingly new.
Mr. Paul also had not noticed new changes in Killingly. I mentioned that a new liquor store is expected to be opening near ALDI. He said, “Yes, these new additions are interesting, but I don’t understand why we need another liquor store. It’s sending a bad message.”
The overall message I got from the interviews was that the development is going to bring lots of jobs to the community and be helpful for the economy, which will be an overall great thing for Killingly, but there might be plenty of people who don’t agree with a new liquor store. ■
These lots beside Owen Bell Park are projected to host Five Guys, Starbucks, Aspen Dental, Jersey Mike’s, and a GoHealth Urgent Care.
The previous “Spirit Halloween” next to ALDI is projected to become a liquor store.
