Support Our Falmouth Run! 🏃♂️ Every dollar hits our microgrant fund, wiping out medical costs for Cape kids in need of mental health & OT care.
Right now on Cape Cod, the pediatric behavioral health system is stretched to its absolute limit. Families face grueling waitlists, and insurance routinely excludes vital, resilience-building care—like sensory-informed Occupational Therapy and social skills groups. This leaves families stuck with high out-of-pocket costs and unaffordable deductibles.
At Brighter Beginnings, we believe financial barriers should never stand in the way of a child's mental well-being. We partner with local schools, businesses, and clinics to build supportive, accessible environments where kids can thrive.
We build programs that work by meeting kids exactly where they are in the community. This past winter, we partnered with Cape Cod 5 Bank and Refuge Fitness here in Falmouth to host a highly successful, 8-week movement and confidence group for local children with sensory-motor needs impacting their behavioral health.
While these programs change trajectories, the regional gaps are stark: our occupational therapy programming alone recently faced over $19,000 in unreimbursed costs just trying to keep care fully accessible to families in need.
Funds a Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Evaluation, pinpointing sensory and emotional regulation challenges to build a clear recovery pathway.
Fully sponsors a child or teen to participate in specialized 8-week therapeutic community cohorts like our winter fitness group.
Launches a Master Microgrant to cover deductibles and copays for local families facing severe financial stress.
We rely on community support to keep these vital pediatric mental health and OT programs accessible across Barnstable County.
This August, our first official fundraiser kicks off at the Falmouth Road Race. Whether you want to sponsor our runners or set up your own personal fundraising page under our team banner to share the 7-mile journey from Woods Hole to the Heights, every dollar goes directly into our microgrant fund to cover out-of-pocket costs for families in need.
