The Civil Service helps the government of the day to develop and implement its policies as effectively as possible. The Civil Service provides services directly to people all over the country, including: paying benefits and pensions, running employment services, running prisons, issuing driving licences. We also have staff working on policy development and implementation, including analysts, project managers, lawyers and economists.

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service provide fire and rescue cover across the county of Northumberland, based out of 16 fire stations.  They also run 'Young Firefighters’ cadets at 5 of these and offer an accredited Prince's Trust programme for young people aged 16-24 . Members of staff from Community Safety will be on hand to discuss these initiatives and to explain the firefighter recruitment process.  

Graeme - Chief Legacy Maker: Born and bred in Northumberland before qualifying as an accountant in a small practice, working at PwC, in senior positions in the public sector before setting up in 2012. Winner of the UK Digital Accountant of the Year Award in 2020 and Winner of the Small Firm of the Year at the 2023 Xero Awards. Graeme has supported KEVI Inspires for a number of years. 

ORE Catapult are the UK's Leading Technology Innovation and Research Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy. We work with everyone from small innovators to global multinationals to push the boundaries of renewables technology in a safe, innovative and sustainable way. Jonathan Hughes is an Alumnus of The King Edward VI School and will present about why you should consider Engineering, giving real world examples from his time at the National Renewable Energy Centre in Blyth.
