The Kettering University Physics Clubs are recognized student organizations of Kettering University and sponsored by Kettering Student Government.
The mission of Physics Club is to promote interest in Physics and related career fields and to provide students with hands-on physics activities and access to information on physics research. In short, if it involves physics (or astronomy), we're interested! Club membership is open to all Kettering University students.
Kettering University students typically attend classes every other academic quarter as they are typically working in co-op jobs during the other terms. A-section students attend in the Summer and Winter terms, while B-section students attend during the Fall and Winter term. As such, both the A-section Physics Club and B-section Physics Club independently schedule their own activities and events.
Both Physics Clubs typically meet during the common hour (12:25-1:15 pm) one day per week from 2nd to 10th week in the Learning Commons Makerspace. However, meetings and other activities may occur at other times and venues depending on the nature of the event. Please see the Physics Club calendar for the latest schedule.
For summaries and photos of recent meetings and other events, please see the Physics Club (A and B) Facebook page.
Some students who are members of Physics Club also naturally join the national Society of Physics Students (SPS), but SPS membership is not required to be a member of Physics Club.
