Credible Sources Scholarship Seminar K Dodds

Using Credible Resources: The slides, left, were created to help students use credible resources in their scholarship essays (graduating seniors) but the information can benefit all students in preparation for writing.

These slides were created by Kaitlyn Dodds in 2018. You may email her or Ms. Westermeyer at anna.westermeyer@keokukschools.org with any questions about the covered content or with requests for more information.

Social Studies Resources

The slides, right, were presented to Mr. Campbell's students in the spring of 2019. The slides provide resources from the library at the GPAEA which support his WWII project.

Details include how to access library materials and more detailed information about GPAEA databases related to primary and secondary resources, especially those directly supporting history and social studies curriculum.

Please email Ms. Westermeyer at anna.westermeyer@keokukschools.org if you have any further questions.

Campbell - World War II Project

Ben's Guide, right, is "designed to inform students, parents, and educators about the Federal Government, which issues the publications and information products disseminated by the GPO’s Federal Depository Library Program."

The site offers sections for ages 4-8, 9-13, and 14+ with topics ranging from the branches of government to symbols to the election process.

Science Resources

Ancient Earth Globe: See what the Earth looked like 20 million, 100 million--even 600 million--years ago with this interactive map (right). This site has options to navigate to the first multi-cellular life, the first insects, even all the way to Cretaceous period before dinosaur extinction.

A perfect resource for students learning about Pangea and earth shifts!

Inquiry guides are also available here for certain units. Please contact Ms. Westermeyer if you have a project that would benefit from an inquiry guide.
