Reading Incentives & Resources

In order to inspire reading and--hopefully--encourage life long literacy, below are some wonderful resources that offer ideas and free resources.

Book Taco - "Book Taco is a highly engaging, interactive program where teachers can administer, assess and motivate student independent reading. Looking for an alternative to Accelerated Reader®? You’ve come to the right place!"

Brightly - "At Brightly, we believe reading has the power to illuminate kids’ lives. But we also know how hard it can be to connect kids with the right books at the right time and keep them engaged with reading as they grow. We want to make it a little easier, and a lot more fun, for parents and educators to raise children who love to read."

Social Studies Resources

Ben's Guide, left, is "designed to inform students, parents, and educators about the Federal Government, which issues the publications and information products disseminated by the GPO’s Federal Depository Library Program."

The site offers sections for ages 4-8, 9-13, and 14+ with topics ranging from the branches of government to symbols to the election process.
