Kenton Elementary 4th Grade
Welcome to our 4th grade website!
Welcome to our 4th grade website for the 2018-19 school year. This is where you will find information about what's going on in our classrooms and/or school. This is something new for us so please be patient as we learn. We are going to try to stay as up-to-date as possible with the many events that happen in our grade and throughout the school.
4th Grade Newsletter
Communication is very important, therefore we send home a newsletter to keep parents informed about classroom\school activities. We encourage that the newsletter be read together. We believe that when children know their parents are interested and involved, it enhances their learning and interest in school.
Compass Learning is an excellent way to reteach, reinforce, and enrich concepts taught in reading and math. It is directly linked to your child’s MAP scores; therefore, designed just for them. It pinpoints their strengths and weaknesses, too, which the students should be aware of. We do offer extra credit for completing Compass activities at home. For every 5 minutes, they earn 1 extra credit point. The students will be given a log to help them keep track of their time (We have extra if they need another one, or you can print from home using the attachment to the right). Please encourage your child to take advantage of this beneficial program! Thanks!

UPDATED CODE OF EXPECTED BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT
At the August 6 board meeting, the Board of Education approved the Kenton County School District Code of Expected Behavior and Conduct for the 2018-2019 school year. This year, the document will not be printed. An electronic copy can be accessed through the QR Code to the right and this link: http://bit.ly/2K83ZWv. If you need a printed copy, please request one from your school.
On the first day of school, August 15, every student will receive a copy of a letter explaining changes to the attendance policy and directions on how to access the electronic version of the Code of Expected Behavior and Conduct . The copy of the letter explaining changes to the attendance policy may be accessed here: First Day of School Attendance Letter. After a student has used 10 excused absences, a Medical Excuse Form is required to be completed by a doctor for the absence to become excused. The Medical Excuse Form may be accessed from our Health Services page. A copy will also be sent home on the first day of school and will be available in the school office.
