the Skoolies released their debut album in 2022, Darker Rhymes, and most recently their EP, Don't Let Go, where they battle obsession and addiction by wrapping dysfunction in a melodic post-punk candy to make the bitter taste sweet.  Their musical style has flavors of post-punk, guitar riffing, bass wielding mayhem that provides a fresh, lo-fi vibe inspired by bands of the 80s onward.  Check out “Betrayed” for thoughts on self-inflicted loneliness and “We Were Young” for a sense of longing and forgotten youth.  We are homegrown in Kent (Ohio) and play in the greater Cleveland area.  The skoolies included Topher Vonz (formerly in Way Past Tense), Pip (also with Harmony Star), TJ (just happy to be in a band) and Ash (also with the Beams, check them out at www.thebeams.band/).  Love and hugs go out to a founding member, John Gunstad, who recently traded his sticks in for some time off for good behavior.
