Kena.AI

Why we are hot?

  • Massive market opportunity. There are 700 million people globally who learn music. An estimated 25-30 million people spend $100 annually on music lessons, from countries across the world with per-capita income higher than $15k. Music lessons on average cost $40 for 1 hour session in the US. 85% of music learning is self practice (100% if self-taught). There is no real-time feedback during such practice sessions. This builds bad habits and hard to correct. Kena's goal is to enable real-time practice feedback for any music and enable dynamic learning path based on real-time diagnostics. Bottom-up estimates shows a TAM of $2 billion to $4 billion as an opportunity (B2C+B2B).
  • Real impact: A 'ding' in the universe. Kena's true motivation derives from an expected psychic income based on the conjecture that learning music has shown reduction in bullying in schools, improving grades, math skills, overall cognitive functions, a drastic reduction in depression in adults, a reduction in alcoholism, pain and suicide rates across the world. If this conjecture holds, then why not dedicate yourself to making a larger impact in the world by reducing the drop-out rates of music practitioners? Increase practice productivity? Help compose subliminal creative expressions?
  • AI innovation that matters. Similar to a patient health record and health diagnostics in healthcare, Kena is investing in music diagnostics using Artificial Intelligence to help musicians keep track of practice journals, analysis, diagnostics, dynamic learning paths, goal-orientation and real-time feedback on musical aspects like tempo, rhythm, harmony, melody, pitch, scales and other compositional architecture of music. The key innovation is in enabling real-time feedback for any music or melody you might even create on-the-fly. This is different from our competitors who use templatized musical phrases and songs.
  • Founder Profile. Preetham Vishwantha brings in 25+ years in tech and 15+ years in Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning. Being self-taught on metal guitar allowed him to experience the pain of learning. With fragmented online destinations and no real-time feedback, learning music is costly and hard. After years of searching for a solution, he decided to roll-up his sleeves and build a platform ground-up that would create a significant impact for practitioners and artists globally. He founded Kena.AI in August 2019 and is fully invested in making Kena.AI successful.

About Kena.AI

Given the recent outbreaks, schools and colleges across the globe are turning towards online platforms. But the platforms for music education are quite archaic and not ready for either group-based tutorials or self-learning. Kena is building a wholistic online music platform for self-taught learners and practitioners and scale it globally for all instruments and genres.

What is Kena.ai?

AI-based personal music tutor.

  • "Hey Kena, I have 30 minutes, what should I practice today?"
  • "Hey Kena, how is my practice going"
  • "Hey Kena, teach me a musical piece with sweep picking arpeggio in e-minor"
  • "Hey Kena, find a metal song in F#5 at 150 beats"
  • "Hey Kena, play me C-G-Am-F chord progression at 80 beats"

The market potential is not just in B2C. Kena intends to engage with K-12 schools for helping teach music efficiently. Separately, Kena intends to build artist workbench for AI composition of music for studios, movie makers, media and gaming companies.
