7th grade math focuses on grade-level TEKS which include the content strands of number and operations; proportionality; expressions, equations, and relationships; and measurement and data. This course also guides students in developing skills such as problem solving, estimation, and communicating mathematical ideas.

Students who maintained a 90 - 100 average in 6th grade math and passed the Math STAAR at the Masters Grade Level are recommended for enrollment in this course. Accelerated 7th grade math covers all of 7th grade TEKS as well as all of 8th grade TEKS. Students who successfully complete this course will have met the prerequisites for enrollment in Algebra 1 in 8th grade. 7th Grade TEKS include the content strands of number and operations; proportionality; expressions, equations, and relationships; and measurement and data, while 8th grade math focuses on preparation for Algebra 1 with an emphasis on expressions and equations, along with foundations of functions and proportionality. This course also guides students in connecting multiple representations of relationships and communicating mathematical ideas.
