What is UNiDAYS ?
UNiDAYS is a free discount platform for students (universities, vocational schools, etc.) and educators (faculty and staff). It participates as a Service Provider (SP) in "GakuNin" (Academic Access Management Federation in Japan), operated by the National Institute of Informatics (NII).
A major example of its use is the "Apple Store for Education (Japan)", which uses UNiDAYS to verify student/staff eligibility for academic pricing.
How to Get Discounts via UNiDAYS ?

To receive discounts, you must first agree to the Terms of Service and verify your affiliation with an educational institution. You can create a UNiDAYS account using one of the following methods:
a) Verification via GakuNin (keio.jp) - Available from March 2026
b) Verification via Institution Email Address (@keio.jp)
c) Verification by Uploading ID (Student ID, Faculty/Staff ID, etc.)
Alumni and former members are NOT eligible. Using an alumni account may violate the Terms of Service. For details, please contact

Newly admitted students cannot use methods "a" or "b" until April 1st. Please use method "c" or refer to the UNiDAYS help page

a-1. Access the "Apple Store for Education", select your product, and proceed to checkout.
a-2. "Verify with UNiDAYS" when prompted for eligibility.
a-3. Click "Continue" on the UNiDAYS verification page.
If a Cookie warning appears, simply click "Close".
a-4. Create your UNiDAYS Account.
Please strictly follow the instructions below.
Email Address: When creating your UNiDAYS account, use your personal email address. Do NOT use your university-provided email address (e.g., @keio.jp or @*.keio.ac.jp) as your UNiDAYS account username.
Password: When setting a password for your UNiDAYS account, NEVER use the same password as your keio.jp account. For your security, ensure it is a unique password.
Policies: Please read the UNiDAYS Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy carefully. You must agree to these terms before proceeding.
Read the Terms/Privacy Policy and proceed.
a-5. If asked "Let us know first," click "No thanks."
Note: If the email address you entered is already registered with a UNiDAYS account, you may be redirected to a different screen. Instead of the usual registration page, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered email address, and you will be prompted to enter it. In such cases, please follow the on-screen instructions.
a-6. The "Verify your account" screen will be displayed.
Fill in the required information, select "Keio University" (or 慶應義塾大学) from the list, and then click "Continue."
Note: If the email address you entered is already registered with a UNiDAYS account, you may be redirected to a different screen. Instead of the usual registration page, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered email address, and you will be prompted to enter it. In such cases, please follow the on-screen instructions.
a-7. The "Verify Account" screen will be displayed.
Confirm that the institution name is "Keio University" (or 慶應義塾大学), and then click "Start Portal."
a-8. You will be redirected to the keio.jp authentication page.
Enter your keio.jp account information (ID, Password, and MFA authentication factor) and log in to keio.jp.
a-9. The "Attribute Release Confirmation" screen for GakuNin will be displayed.
Review the details and click "Accept" (or 同意する).
The following two attributes will be sent from keio.jp (IdP) to UNiDAYS (SP):
ePTID (eduPersonTargetedID)
ePSA (eduPersonScopedAffiliation)
a-10. Once the verification is successful, a screen similar to the one below will be displayed.
Note: The identity verification for UNiDAYS is valid for one year. After one year, you will be required to re-authenticate via GakuNin (keio.jp) to maintain your status.
a-11. You will be redirected back to the Apple Store.
Please ensure that the student/staff discount has been applied before proceeding with your purchase.

b-1. Access the "Apple Store for Education", select the product you wish to purchase, and proceed to the checkout process.
b-2. Click "Verify your student or staff status" → "Verify with UNiDAYS".
b-3. Click "Verify your student or staff status to shop the Apple Education Store" → "Continue".
Depending on your environment, a Cookie warning similar to the one below may appear. Simply click "Close."
b-4. Create a UNiDAYS account.
Important Notes (Please follow strictly):
Email Address: Use your personal email address for your UNiDAYS account. Do NOT enter your university-provided email address (e.g., @keio.jp or @*.keio.ac.jp).
Password: When setting a password for your UNiDAYS account, never use the same password as the one you use for university services.
Policies: Carefully read the UNiDAYS Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy, and agree to them before proceeding.
b-5. Click "First things first" → "No thanks".

Enter the required information, select "Keio University" (or 慶應義塾大学), and click "Continue".

Ensure that the institution name is "Keio University" (or 慶應義塾大学), then click "Verify by email."
b-8. The "Verify Student Email" screen will be displayed.
Enter your university-issued email address (e.g., @keio.jp or @*.keio.ac.jp) that you normally use, and click "Send Email."
b-9. The "Check your inbox" screen will be displayed.
Check the inbox of the email account (email address) you specified previously.
b-10. Check the email you received and click "Verify Now."
b-11. Return to your browser. Once the following screen is displayed, click "Continue."
b-12. You will be redirected to the Apple Store page.
Please ensure that the discount has been applied before proceeding with your purchase.
