Wellness provides basic information and discussion on important fitness and wellness topics. This course will address consumer health, nutrition & lifestyle disease, sexuality & reproduction. Substance misuse, tobacco use, mental health, and relationship development. There will also be a variety of individual fitness activities and testing. This course also gives students the opportunity to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. Physical education and wellness collaboration is an indispensable tool to combat obesity and teach students about the importance of healthy decision making now, and its impact on their future.
Homework is given very rarely in wellness. With that said, it is my hope it will be completed in a timely fashion. Class work is something that we do often and is a large part of your grade, so it is expected that class work will be handed in at the end of the class. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up all work, tests, quizzes or projects.
If you ever need clarity on course content or an assignment please see one of us to arrange a time to meet. Asking for help is certainly encouraged. We can’t help you if I am not aware that you need help, and I want you all to succeed! Extra help is always available. Please do not hesitate to stay after school, or email questions and/or concerns. ipollard@kearsarge.org
