KCA STEM Lending Library

The KCA STEM Lending Library is a resource of up to 60 different types of STEM equipment available for use by all Kauai public school teachers (during the school year) to promote STEM and career-connected learning.

Borrowing Period

    • Up to two weeks (14 calendar days).
      • Two weeks if requiring equipment drop-off/pick-up.
    • Extension available by request, provided another teacher has not requested the equipment.
    • The calendar below will show if equipment is unavailable.

Borrowing Equipment

      • Borrowing teachers are responsible for picking up and returning equipment--equipment drop off available by special request and on alternating weeks.
          • Equipment is housed at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School
        • Must be logged into @k12.hi.us account to view equipment calendar.
    3. Refer to Lesson Ideas table to see how other teachers on island have used equipment from the Library.
    4. Complete the Borrower's Form below.

Schools are responsible for the cost of any missing parts or damage to the equipment (beyond normal wear and tear as defined by equipment warranty).

Please submit the following Google Form at least two weeks in advance. Include

All Student Pre-Borrower Surveys, Teacher and Student Post-Borrower Surveys, and Photos must be submitted within one day of equipment return (details sent after borrower confirmation). Failure to complete surveys and submit photos may result in a loss of KCA STEM Lending Library privileges.

OTHER Available Lending Libraries for Kauai Teachers

The KCA STEM Lending Library was inspired by the work of the Windward, Oahu Academic Integration CTE Team and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools Tech Team.
