Nursery: Block Print Patterns
Last week, our nursery learners explored block printing in art class, nurturing creativity, fine motor skills, and pattern recognition. Using foam and wooden blocks in shapes like stars, circles, and flowers, they dipped them into vibrant, non-toxic paints to create unique designs. Some crafted simple patterns, while others created bold compositions, experimenting with colour blending and pressure. The session ended with excited children proudly displaying their colourful masterpieces, fostering artistic expression and a sense of accomplishment.
Our Jr. KG learners explored the fascinating world of Warli art, a tribal art form from Maharashtra, using geometric shapes like circles, triangles, and lines. After observing traditional Warli designs featuring stick figures, animals, and village scenes, they created their own artwork on brown sheets with white paint. Armed with brushes, they painted sunbursts, human figures, and trees, crafting unique visual stories. The session combined learning and creativity, with each child producing a distinctive piece that showcased their imagination and enthusiasm.
This week, our Sr. KG learners explored landscape art, focusing on key elements like the horizon line and the concept of depth. Using drawing sheets and crayons, they sketched vibrant scenes with bold foregrounds, softer middle grounds, and light backgrounds. Their creations included flowers, trees, animals, hills, houses, and sunny skies, showcasing layering and perspective. This engaging activity nurtured creativity, fine motor skills, and an understanding of art concepts, resulting in beautifully detailed landscapes.
