It might take up to ten hours to create one handcrafted thong.
Although many clothing items use synthetic materials like elastane and polyamide, many feature cotton and modal for the body. They used to market a Lourdes collection, most of the clothing in which was composed of recycled elastane and polyamide.
Sustainable dyes are used to create the colors.

Bedstraw+Madder
A British company - Bedstraw + Madder produces incredibly soft underwear that is made from cotton which is in its natural greige state and is traditionally hand-woven and dyed with botanicals in their work with farmers and artisans in Southern India.
Their underwear is made with natural plant dyes like Vembadam, which has anti-allergic properties, Tacoma, which has potent antioxidant elements due to its flavonoids, and Madder, which is derived from a root and has natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial qualities.
Their knickers are dyed using traditional Indian techniques, so soy milk is like a substitute for more common metallic mordants. Interesting part is, they are completely biodegradable!
