Hokianga Year 12 Haerenga
On February 3rd our Year 12 Te Reo students stayed at Kokohuia marae in the Hokianga. Immersing ourselves in tikanga Māori and attending Waitangi celebrations at Waitangi was the focus of this trip. Exploring our beautiful country and real cultural experiences outside the walls of the classroom is the opportunity we want to provide for our students.
Rotorua Year 11 Haerenga
In Term 3 the Y11 Te Reo students had a noho marae at the picturesque Uenukukopako on the shores of Lake Rotorua. This was an opportunity to experience some Māori tourism ventures and gain insight into Te Arawa Tikanga and knowledge. The visit to Mokoia Island was a highlight for all.
