In this two-part class, you will use an inspiration photo (bring your own or utilize the instructor provided) to create a felted landscape.
Day one will be utilized to select fibers, create your layout using wools provided with a prefelt base, which you will then wet felt, rinsing before the end of the class and hanging to dry in preparation of day two.
Day two will focus on embellishing with needle felting, stitching, and offer you additional suggestions for making your landscape come alive with a little bit of dimensional work.
You will receive complete basic felting instructions to take home with you as well as a resource list for securing tools and fibers in future endeavors. While your landscape may not be completed at the end of the second day, you will have everything you need to complete your embellishments at home following the class.
$40 covers the supplies for class including a wide variety of dyed fibers and specialty fibers along with a fiber bar of bits from previous classes.
I look forward to felting with you in June!!

This two-day painting workshop combines collage, acrylic, stil life, and plein air painting. Participants will learn strategies for simplifying complex scenes into strong compositions while working both in the studio and outdoors. Artists will leave with new approaches to painting and practical ideas they can bring back to their own classrooms.
This workshop will take place in one of Washburn Rural High Schools newly remodeled artrooms.

Solder-Free Metals for Secondary Art
This two-day hands-on workshop explores sheet metal techniques including fold forming, rivets, and tab settings to create dimension and strong cold connections without soldering. Participants will experiment with surface design through texture, patinas, and oil-based paint markers to add depth and visual interest.
All skill levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring small found objects or collage materials—such as charms, stones, or meaningful keepsakes—to incorporate into their designs. Each participant will leave with unique, handcrafted pieces that showcase both structural techniques and expressive surface detail.
