English 8~Quarter 1

Welcome to the World of Utopia!

Hello and welcome to the first quarter of our amazing English 8 class!

The overall objectives for this unit are:

To read and analyze The Giver by Lois Lowry
To write a five-paragraph essay on the following topic: "Describe three aspects that the Community relinquishes in order to achieve utopia. "

I will post our daily lesson plans with our daily objectives on this site. The links on the top of the page will guide you to the correct week. I will be continuously adding new resources, so stay tuned and check this site often!

Fun Facts About Me:

I love winter!
My older sister and I were born on the same day.
I have friends all over the world, but my best friend lives in Israel.
If I have any free time, I read. I love crime fiction.
Historical fiction is my favorite genre.
Emily Dickinson and Sergei Esenin are my favorite poets.
I knew that I would become a teacher in 8th grade! I never regretted my choice!
