Henley Middle School Clubs

At Henley we have a wide variety of clubs. Please see the descriptions below to get more information or sign up

Model United Nations (MUN)

What is it? Model United Nations, also known as Model UN is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. The conference will be virtual this year. We are really not sure how this will change things, but we are ready to get started. The club will be facilitated Mrs. Effland and Ms Schultz.

When and Where? To be determined after the interest meeting and students are selected.

How do I get Involved? Add your name to this list. We will be sending out information soon. Fill out this form to let me know you are interested.

Registration is currently closed for this club. Please check back next year.

Competitive Math Team

What is it? Henley now has a competitive math team that will compete at various virtual competitions in the area including AMC8.

When and Where? Teams will most likely meet after school or in the evenings, depending on the availability of students and coaches. This team will be coached by parent Natasha Foutz and facilitate by Cecilia Schultz

Basketball Club

What is it? Coach Tomlin (Mr. Jimmy) as well as some other special guests are organizing a Henley Basketball club. During this time we will talk about basketball plays, skills and drills you can do to improve your game, and hear from special guests that have made a career with basketball. These special guests will be from the high school, college, and NBA levels! Our hope with this group is to help Henley students who are interested in playing basketball at Henley, Western Albemarle, private schools, and even the college level know what type of things you need to do to reach your goals! We highly encourage all Henley basketball players and students interested in playing basketball at the next level to join this club; however, all are welcome!

When and Where? We will meet every Friday starting October 16th from 12-1 over Zoom.

How do I get involved? If you are interested, please email jtomlin@k12albemarle.org for the Zoom links and more information.
