Mr. Cole has been teaching for a number of years in a variety of different schools or similar settings. He has worked in education most of his career, but he has also worked at Boeing, Nintendo, Procter & Gamble, University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and has had his own business teaching homeschool students through a contractual partnership with the public schools. 

Outside of school, Mr. Cole is involved in church, playing/composing music, spending time with his family and friends, watching or playing sports, going on road trips or just sitting on the porch enjoying the prairie breeze with his beautiful wife of 30+ years. It's not unusual to break out in a prayerful song with family at the dinner table which is quite entertaining for the young grandson.
