2026 Mokihana Club Music Scholarship Competition
The Mokihana Club is delighted to announce its 56th Annual Music Scholarship Competition to be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. You are receiving this email packet as you are involved with music on Kauai.
The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who live on Kauai. These students can be going on to major in music in college, continuing to study with a music teacher, or pursuing a job in the music industry.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. Parents 2024 Adjusted Household Income must not have exceeded $125,000. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help pay for essential items to attend college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars have attended 769 colleges and universities located in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and have studied abroad in 64 countries.
Zonta Club of Kauai Foundation: 2026 Scholarship Program for Women Residents of Kauai Wishing to Return to Higher Education or Learning
The Zonta Club of Kaua’i, an International Service Organization of Executives in Business and Professions, is providing scholarships for women residents of Kauai furthering their education by returning to higher education and/or learning.One scholarship is dedicated to funding academic expenses at the Kauai Community College.
In addition, the Betty J. Bell/Zonta Foundation Scholarship for Kauai Women will be awarded in honor of former Zontian Betty J. Bell for her many services to the Island of Kaua’i. Scholarships are available for returning to learning females or students with proven academic standing who demonstrate financial need in a quest for higher learning.

Kauai FCU Foundation Scholarship – $10,000 Available for Students!
The Kauai FCU Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now open for our 39th Annual Scholarship Program! We’re awarding $10,000 in scholarships to support Kauai’s graduating seniors, returning college or graduate students, and those pursuing trade certificates.
These scholarships help local students reach their educational goals at accredited colleges, universities, graduate/doctoral programs, or trade schools in the upcoming school year. Award amounts and the number of recipients is determined annually by the Foundation Board.
Eligibility Requirements:
A Kauai resident.
(1) a graduating high school senior from any public, private, or homeschool OR (2) a returning student currently pursuing trade school, a college degree or higher.
Enrolled in an accredited college, university, graduate/doctorate program, or trade school for the 2026-2027 school year.
A Kauai FCU member in good standing for at least three months.

Hawaii Education Association Scholarship
The Hawaii Education Association (HEA) is offering two scholarships of $2,000 each in academic year 2026-2027 to deserving high school seniors who are children of HEA members, or grandchildren or legally adopted grandchildren of HEA members.
These one-year scholarships are offered to graduating students who will enroll in any two-or-four-year state or nationally accredited institution of higher learning in the 2026-2027 academic year (preference will be given to those in preK-12 teaching).

The Delta Kappa Gamma International Society ETA Chapter Scholarship in Education
The ETA Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society has established one to four scholarships in Education ranging from $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 per recipient. North Shore Lions Club Scholarship Program Application
Students must be North Shore residents (Moloa'a to Haena) to be eligible.
They must also follow all the instructions for our Qualifications, Requirements and Conditions on the application.

Kapaia Foundation 2026 Scholarship Application
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the dreams of our forefathers for the success of their descendants. We wish to instill in young people an appreciation for the rich history of the Sugar Plantation era In Hawaii. The sugar plantation laborer’s work ethic set the foundation for success enjoyed by their children, grandchildren and generations thereafter.
Kapaia Foundation is pleased to offer a $1000.00 scholarship to a student graduating from a public or private high school on Kaua’i, who demonstrates qualities passed on from our forefathers: hard work, perseverance and a positive attitude.

2026 Daniel Moriarty Memorial Scholarship
Friends of Kauaʻi Wildlife Refuges serves as the non-profit friends group that provides support to the Kauaʻi National Wildlife Refuge Complex. The organization is now accepting applications for their annual scholarship in honor of Daniel Moriarty. Dan was an outstanding environmental educator and conservationist who played a major role in developing Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge and by fostering a strong conservation culture within the community, which continues to this day. Friends of Kauaʻi Wildlife Refuges annually awards scholarships in his memory, with expenses applied directly to college or university expenses.
Students studying in the fields of botany, zoology, natural history and related subjects concerning the Hawaiian environment are encouraged to apply. The fields of wildlife management, interpretation, conservation, and environmental education are also supported. To be eligible, students must have been a resident of Hawaiʻi within the last five years, been accepted or enrolled in a four-year college or university or a two-year program provided by a Community College and maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
In 2025, the Friends of Kauaʻi Wildlife Refuges Board of Directors awarded a total of $30,000 in awards to fourteen students, supporting the future of wildlife conservation across our state for years to come. Completed applications and supporting documents must be submitted no later than April 30, 2026.

The lsamu Morita and Takako Martha Morita Trust was set up by its donors (former pastor and members of Kapa‘a United Church of Christ) to provide scholarships for high school seniors from any of the three (3) public high schools on Kaua‘i seeking a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university.
Scholarships may be renewed for awardees for additional academic years when requirements are met.* Includes maintaining a minimum 2.5 scholastic standard. Awardee is responsible to send report card transcript every year to reapply.

Andy Irons Foundation Scholarship
On February 13, 2014, the Governor of Hawaii declared February 13 Andy Irons Day to celebrate the legacy of the three time world champion surfer. To celebrate and honor his remarkable life, the Andy Irons Foundation takes great pride in announcing the Andy Irons Foundation Scholarship in his honor. Attached please find the scholarship application.
To be eligible, students need to have a home address on Kauai and be accepted or attending a university, community college, vocational or technical school, as well as have a 3.0 gpa. Students who live from Anahola to Hā‘ena are encouraged to apply for scholarships to support their educational goals.

Gustav Hannemann and Faiaso Soliai Hannemann Leadership Awards
Goal
To recognize graduating senior students of Samoan ancestry who demonstrate the academic promise and leadership potential needed for Samoans to fulfill their roles as citizens and to contribute to the progress and prosperity of Hawaii and our nation.
Awards
A $500 award will be granted to at least one male and one female. (In years past de to the outstanding caliber of applicants, the Committee has granted as many as half a dozen $500 awards.) The awards are named in honor of Mufi Hannemann’s late father and mother: the Gustav Hannemann Leadership Award for the male and the Faiaso Soliai Hannemann Leadership Award for the female.
Criteria
Award recipients will be selected from these criteria:
senior class standing;
be of Samoan ancestry;
grade-point average of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in college preparatory coursework;
participation in student government, preferably in leadership positions, and participation in on-campus activities or community service; and
selection for honors and awards.

2026 Hui Makaala Scholarship
From its inception in 1947, Hui Makaala has been dedicated to the pursuit of higher education. Over the years, it has awarded hundreds of scholarships to Hawaii's college students, who not only have the drive to succeed by also an interest in the rich tapestry of the Okinawan culture. Typically, Hui Makaala awards between 8-12 cash scholarships annually, in the approximate amount of $3,000 each.
It is not necessary that the applicants be Okinawan, however, as we are an Okinawan culture, applicants should have a demonstrable interest in the Okinawan culture (some examples include: the Japanese language, karate, Okinawan dance, taiko, sanshin, the Okinawan Festival, or appreciation of Okinawan food, history or art).

Purpose of Scholarship: To provide a $2000.00 grant to a high school or undergraduate student within the state of Hawaii, who has been accepted for or attends full time enrollment in an accredited college or university, leading to a Bachelor’s Degree.
Eligibility Requirements: (1) Must be classified as a full time student at the Senior level at a high school within the state of Hawaii, or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university; (2) Must provide a transcript of your most recent High School grades; (3) Must consent to be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee if requested.
Criteria for Selection of Recipient: Application must be received or postmarked no later than DUE: MAY 31, 2026-
(1) Academic Promise (must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher)
(2) Extra Curricular Activities (employment, or actively involved in community affairs as well as academic activities)
(3) Financial Need (How significant will this grant be for the scholar to attend college?)
(4) Must provide a minimum of two letters of recommendation from present school counselors, current teachers or other character mentors
(5) For High School Seniors:
Must send a copy of an acceptance letter or notice from an accredited college or university.
(6) A copy of the parent or guardian’s IRS Form 1040 for 2024 is required to be evaluated for financial need. (SSNs and other PII can be blackened out. All copies will be shredded.
