UPDATED DRESS CODE
THE DRESS CODE UPDATE:
Lower garments: When wearing leggings, and tights uniform shirts must be untucked.
Tights and leggings that are shorts must be mid-thigh in length.
Regardless of where students are dropped off, or if they walk to campus, they must proceed to their grade level holding area once on campus.
Classrooms and hallways in front of classrooms are off-limits in the morning.
Before and After School Procedures
Drop Off Procedures
All students will be checked in the morning. Honoring drop-off times and designated drop-off areas is necessary to support student safety.
Regardless of where students are dropped off, or if they walk to campus, they must proceed to their grade level holding area once on campus. Classrooms and hallways in front of classrooms are off-limits in the morning.
Drop-off areas (siblings may use either designated area)
Grade 6/7: Upper parking lot and drop students off at the bus ramp
Grade 8: Lower parking lot and drop students off in front of the main office
During morning drop-off, to prevent a backlog on Puainako Street, please pull all the way forward leaving as little gap between the car in front of you as safely possible, and come to a complete stop before your child exits the vehicle.
For everyone's safety, please do not attempt to maneuver around other vehicles to "jump the line" when dropping off your child.
The upper parking lot gate will be closed at 7:50. All students arriving on campus between 7:50 and 8:00 must proceed to the lower parking lot and check in at the 8th-grade check-in area.
Arrivals after 8:00 am students must be checked in at the main office and receive a tardy slip.
Pick-up Procedures
Students must be off campus within 15 minutes of dismissal unless the student has a valid reason for remaining on campus (ie. After School All Stars Program, tutoring, club meeting, practice)
Recommended Times for PikMyKid - Private Car Pick-up (following recommended times greatly reduces your wait time)
Monday, Upper Gate opens at 2:00 pm, recommended time to come to campus 2:25 pm
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - Upper Gate opens at 1:50 pm, Recommended time to come to campus 2:20 pm
Wednesday - Upper Gate Opens at 12:50 pm, Recommended time to come to campus 1:20 pm
WIS has discontinued utilizing a staggered dismissal method. Students will be dismissed all at the the same time regardless of dismissal method. All students must report directly to their waiting area and comply with afterschool procedures that are determined by the pick-up method
Walkers and off-campus within 15 minutes from being dismissed from PM Homeroom
Bus Riders must report to the lani area near the front office, Front Office Lani area, check-in with staff
After School All Stars, Uplink Clubs, and Homework Help must report to the Cafeteria or Playcourt
After-School Clubs/Practice - all students must register for ASAS if participating in any after-school activity. Students report to the Cafeteria and check in with ASAS staff. Club Advisors will pick up students at the blue tables outside the cafe. When a club is dismissed students will report to ASAS and families will pick up students at the upper parking lot with ASAS staff.
Carline must report to the Student Center Breezeway
Private Car Pickup - Breezeway between the Student Center and OCR, students entering the holding area breezeway must be seated and maintain a volume level of 2 to assist with supervision and students being called up to the Car Line.
The PikMyKid app is used for private care pick-up. You will be given a placard with your child’s first name, last name, and unique PikMyKid number. When you enter campus on the upper parking lot....
Place your Placard with your student name and unique Pikmykid ID numbers on the driver's side of the dashboard. Each family will be given two placards, you can create your own placards for family members whom parents/guardians have designated to pick up a child from school.
Pull all the way forward.
Families, please no cell phone use in the car line - please pay attention to staff directions who are manning the car line.
Please do not block Puainako. This causes gridlock and cars cannot enter or exit campus.
The lower parking lot is NOT a private car pickup location, students are NOT allowed to be picked up in front of the main office. Please, do not instruct your children to wait for you in front of the main office. Any student waiting in a non-designated pick-up area will be considered in an off-limits area and will be asked to report to the designated pick-up area. The driveway in front of the office will be blocked off during dismissal to allow students to clear campus safely.
Once students leave campus, they are not allowed back unless with a parent/guardian.
End of School Routines
Student safety relies on adult supervision. Students are not allowed to stay on campus beyond the school day unless they are under adult supervision.
Immediately after dismissal, students must
o walk home;
o report to the following designated pick-up area: Bus Line or Car Line
o report to a school-sponsored activity (club meeting, tutoring, After School All-Stars) .
Loitering after school is not allowed.
If a student is not in a school-sponsored activity, parents and Guardians must arrange for student pick up within 15 minutes of dismissal.
Monday school ends at 2:20 pm Students must be picked up by 2:35 pm
Tues, Thur, Fri school ends at 2:10 pm, students must be picked up by 2:25 pm.
Wednesday school ends at 1:10 pm Students must be picked up by 1:25 pm.
If your child cannot be picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal, please enroll your child in our free after-school program, After School All-Stars.
After School All-Stars is free and provides a snack, study time, and activities. Students enrolled in After School All-Stars may be picked up any time after school, but must be picked up by 5:30 pm.
The main office parking lot is off-limits to students waiting to be picked up. Please do not instruct your child to wait in this area. Families are asked to follow the established pick-up procedures.
Please drive with patience, courtesy, and Aloha when entering and exiting the campus. Student safety and well-being is our priority. We need everyone’s cooperation during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
After School All Stars Pick-up
If your child attends ASAS it is encouraged to pickup no earlier than 3:00 pickup for All Stars is located on the upper parking lot bus ramp.
If you need to pick up your child earlier than 2:20pm, you will need to change their pick-up delegation to "car line" instead of "ASAS" in the Pikmykid app or call the main office at (808) 480-3000, before 12:30, and instruct your child not to sign into ASAS and report to the car-line waiting area behind the learning center instead.
Students in ASAS need time to check-in, attempting to pick-up your child earlier than 3:00 without a change in delegation will result in long wait times.
The start date for ASAS is Tuesday, August 5th, 2025

Bring FULLY CHARGED Chromebook and charger to school daily
No student personal computers from home. Waiakea Intermediate will provide a school-issued computer for students to take home and bring back and forth to campus.
Backpack with padded Chromebook sleeve and daily school supplies (pencil, paper, eraser, highlighters, etc.)
Reusable water bottle, Hydro Stations are available on campus.
