RTI

Response to Intervention (RTI) blocks have been built into our schedule to provide additional support for reading at Puʻu Kukui.

How is this done?

​Focusing on meeting the literacy needs of students, the Reading Support Team services K-5 students during each grade level's Growth Block time. K-2 students receive support in foundational skills such as phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency while the main focus in grades 3-5 is on vocabulary and comprehension.
