Principal's Message

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

APRIL 2024

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you well and refreshed after a restful Spring Break with your families. It was certainly a joy to see our students return to school with renewed energy and enthusiasm for learning.

During Spring Break, I had the privilege of traveling to Korea with several principals from the Farrington Complex. We visited smart farms, magnet schools, and various technology companies that offer exceptional computer science and agricultural learning opportunities for students. It was an enlightening experience, and I am excited about the potential learning opportunities it may bring for our school community in the future.

I am writing to remind you of our upcoming School Community Council (SCC) Community Meeting, scheduled for April 24th at 5:00 pm. During this meeting, I will be sharing our Academic Plan for the upcoming school year. Your participation and input are invaluable as we work together to ensure the success and growth of our school community. Following the sharing of information, we will have an exciting BINGO Night filled with fun and prizes.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the parents who joined us for our annual Leadership Day. It was heartwarming to witness your support and enthusiasm as you visited our classrooms, watched our students' performances, and saw firsthand the incredible learning and leadership skills demonstrated by our students.

I also want to extend my appreciation to all the parents who have supported our Kalihi Kai McDonald's Nights, which have been instrumental in raising funds for our school. Your continued support is truly appreciated and makes a significant difference in enhancing the educational experiences of our students.

I am incredibly proud of our ukulele and chorus students who showcased their talents at the Farrington Family Fair, as well as our fourth graders who participated in the STEM Expo. Their dedication and hard work are truly commendable, and they serve as shining examples of the excellence that exists within our school community.

As we approach the end of the school year, let us continue to work together to finish strong. Together, we can ensure that our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Warm regards,

Marc Kawahara
