Here are a couple of things you should know about me in the classroom:
I used to work at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and appreciate everything that is Disney. I incorporate the same positive, but realistic atmosphere into my classroom and teaching.
I have high expectations for all of my students, I know the work can be challenging, but with a little effort, you can do anything you put your mind to.
I will do my best to engage you in learning, but many times it isn't always fun. Don't give up on the lesson, my class, or me! I will never give up on you!
I urge you to ask me questions! Whether it be in an email, during online class sessions, or in a private message. If you have a question, I guarantee someone else in the class is wondering the same thing.
I will make sure to be available to work one-on-one with you whenever you need extra support.
Here are a few things you should know about me as your teacher:
I love traveling and think it is a fun way to learn about other cultures, lifestyles, and yourself. My goal is to visit every continent, I am still working on Australia, Africa, and Antarctica. This school year I plan to travel to Indiana for a school conference, and Arizona and Japan with my family.
This is my 15th year teaching. I spent my first 5 years at Kapolei Middle before moving to Kaimuki Middle. I have always taught 7th-grade social studies. I love it, I think it is important to understand the history of the place you are living.
In my free time, I like to eat ramen and sushi, go for walks, and spend time with my family, friends, and my pup, Winston.
Some families may also know me by my maiden name Ogata. Honestly, I'll respond to Yuen or Ogata,
