Here are a couple of things you should know about me in the classroom:

• I used to work at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and appreciate everything that is Disney. I incorporate the same positive, but realistic atmosphere into my classroom and teaching. 

• I have high expectations for all of my students, I know the work can be challenging, but with a little effort, you can do anything you put your mind to.

• I will do my best to engage you in learning, but many times it isn't always fun. Don't give up on the lesson, my class, or me! I will never give up on you!

• I urge you to ask me questions! Whether it be in an email, during online class sessions, or in a private message. If you have a question, I guarantee someone else in the class is wondering the same thing.

• I will make sure to be available to work one-on-one with you whenever you need extra support.

Here are a few things you should know about me as your teacher:

• I love traveling and think it is a fun way to learn about other cultures, lifestyles, and yourself. My goal is to visit every continent, I am still working on Australia, Africa, and Antarctica. This school year I plan to travel to Indiana for a school conference, and Arizona and Japan with my family.

• This is my 15th year teaching. I spent my first 5 years at Kapolei Middle before moving to Kaimuki Middle. I have always taught 7th-grade social studies. I love it, I think it is important to understand the history of the place you are living.

• In my free time, I like to eat ramen and sushi, go for walks, and spend time with my family, friends, and my pup, Winston. 

• Some families may also know me by my maiden name Ogata. Honestly, I'll respond to Yuen or Ogata,
