Principal's Message

Aloha Parents/Guardians,

It is a great honor to serve as the new principal of Holomua Elementary School. As we start the new school year, a warm mahalo extends to retired principal Mr. Yasui whose 12 years of leadership, in partnership with teachers and staff, has built a culture of excellence and teamwork. As your new principal, I am committed to upholding Holomua Elementary School’s commitment to working together with teachers, parents and our community. I look forward to honoring traditions, learning from everyone’s collective voices including students’ and innovating in ways that our students need in order to continue moving forward toward success.

I am extremely excited to continue my service to the Ewa Beach community, which spans 19 years in the Hawaii State Department of Education. As a former education assistant, school counselor, summer school teacher/director, student services coordinator, school renewal specialist, vice-principal and former principal of Ilima Intermediate School, I continue to reflect that the common factor in each student’s learning comes from caring relationships. Building and sustaining relationships will continue to serve as the core of our journey to develop students as lifelong learners with a solid foundation in character and social-emotional well-being. I have especially experienced this as a parent whose three older children have learned from Holomua Elementary School’s dedicated teachers. I respectfully ask for your support as we journey together to model Holomua Elementary School’s formula for student success: Knowledge + Heart + Application = Wisdom.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future. Feel free to contact me at 808-685-9100 with any questions or ideas that will support our school’s design.

Sincerely,

Christopher D. Bonilla

Principal
