User Privileges
Can I create new users manually?
No, OITS managed automations will handle all aspects of user account provisioning
Can I create and modify my user-based OUs?
No, OUs will be managed by OITS and will follow a structure organizing users by role and location
Will I be able to view additional user information in the G Suite Admin Console?
Yes, local admins will be able to view additional data on users within the OU’s that they manage
Will I be able to reset user passwords?
No, self-service password reset is available, or a help desk ticket
Can I force a user to change their password in G Suite?
No, self-service password reset is available, or a help desk ticket
Can I suspend or delete users?
Yes, TC’s/OU Google Admins can suspend users within the OU’s that they manage.
G Suite App Privileges
Will I be able to configure Admin Console settings for Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc?
No, these settings will be standardized across the district.
Chrome Device Management Privileges
Can I manage devices for my school?
Yes, the process to enroll, wipe, or deprovision devices will be documented by OITS
Can I modify Admin Console device settings?
Yes, for your site OU you can change device settings. OITS will provide recommendations on default settings
Can I manage Chrome User settings?
Yes, for your School Student OU you can change device settings. OITS will provide recommendations on default settings. Staff OU settings will be restricted. If access to School Staff OU please open a help desk ticket
Group Privileges
Can I create groups in the state tenant?
Yes, through the standard group request process
Can I delete groups that I have created?
No, only OITS can delete groups.
Can I modify group settings?
You can specify certain settings when requesting a new group, but once the groups exists you will need to open a help desk ticket.
Can I manage group membership?
Yes, you will have delegated access through Group Gator to add and remove people from groups at your site.
Can I manage the district-owned groups, for example the job role and location based groups?
No, those groups are managed by an automatic process
User Data Access
Will I have access to Google Vault?
No, only OITS will have access to Google Vault
Will I be able to log in as another user?
No. User credentials should not be shared with anyone.
Will I be able to access a specific user’s Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sites, etc?
No additional user data access privileges will be granted. Individual users can share resources directly with you for support
