Welcome

Welcome, students and parents, to the new West Middle School Digital Learning Commons (or DLC for short). We are so excited to welcome you to our space and to share our love of books and reading. In addition to being a well-stocked and well-loved library, we also work with teachers and students on a number of different topics pertaining to digital literacy.

This year we’re going to be covering a number of topics that I think you’ll find interesting:

• Digital Citizenship
• Academic Integrity
• Information Literacy
• Website Evaluation
• Research and Note-Taking

And so much more! My goal is to teach students research and information access skills; literature appreciation; library skills; media production use; and critical thinking and problem solving skills. I’ll be working closely with team teachers on their projects, providing students with access to print and multimedia resources.
