Elementary School Libraries
The vision of the Andover Public Schools Libraries is to prepare our students to be skilled consumers of information and self-directed learners. The Library Media Program provides students with the resources to become independent critical readers, thinkers, and lifelong researchers, fluent in the various strategies of information seeking.
The mission of the Andover Public Schools library media program is to function as the
information center of the school; to provide the school community with resources and research skills; to enable the school community through resources and skills to become life-long readers and learners.

Massachusetts Children Book Award
Andover Public Schools' 4th and 5th graders are once again invited to participate in the Massachusetts Children’s Book Award (MCBA) Program. This is a wonderful way to discover great new books to read! Students who read 5 of the nominated books are eligible to vote for their favorite in March. The library will have copies of the nominated books available to check out, but students can also look for the books at public libraries.
Students who participate will vote for the winner with their classes in the library and statewide results are revealed in the spring.
