Readers theatre will help students expand their literacy as they learn about various cultures, social and emotional well being, as well as the art of performance. Students will explore the beauty of diversity as it merges together in art.

This course explores the relationships between math, science and art from ancient times through the present.

Students will have Indoor and Outdoor Fun challenging their Minds and Body learning to play indoor board games like Chess, Othello, Checkers, and Mancala. Students will also have fun learning fundamental skills in softball: fielding, batting, throwing, and competing in softball games. We will have a fun time indoors and outdoors challenging ourselves and enjoying some friendly competition.

Have you heard of STEAM (or STEM + Art) they are activities that include an artistic or creative element, in addition to one (or more) of the traditional STEM subjects. It could be creating an engineering project where you pay particular attention to aesthetics. The key is that it must cross the curriculum and encourage critical thinking skills in a meaningful way.

Students will learn about traditional and non-traditional ways of working with clay. We will read about art history and look a different techniques that are used to make clay sculptures. Students will be able to create a variety of clay pieces. They will understand the functions and uses of clay sculpting tools.
